This project was a response to a PTSD/Chronic Anxiety Psychologists centre in Vancouver, BC. It needed to respect the variety of triggers for people living with stress disorders and limit overstimulating environmental factors. It was also imperative to provide daylight to employees and consider the flow of the space to maintain privacy among patients. The concept was to provide a soft, comforting space inspired by elements of Scandinavian design. The design use curves in as many planes as possible to create a cocooning effect. Lighting is softly diffused, and colours are kept neutral to minimize visual overstimulation using different textures to create interest.
